Ever heard of gaslighting? Gaslighting is a form of emotional abuse that causes the victim to question their own feelings and even their sanity in many cases. Gaslighting gives the abuser the power to control everything, literally.
Pay attention to the signs of being gaslighted, like feeling confused, belittled, “crazy” or manipulated. Should you feel that you are a victim, you don’t have to remain one for the rest of your life.
If someone is abusing you in this way you can find the strength to do something about it. You deserve someone who will treat you as you should be. You are not crazy, and your feelings do matter.

1.You feel as if everything you do is wrong.
2. You are always being belittled in a joking manner.
3. You start to second guess yourself most of the time.
4. You are emotionally tired and not as happy as you used to be.
5. You find yourself constantly apologizing for irrelevant things that shouldn’t matter.
6. You keeping secrets from you family and friends, which makes it easier than having to explain things to them.

If you think you are a victim of gaslighting, you should write down whatever you can think of that has been happening to you. This will help you see it clearer. Once you have confirmed it, you should decide whether it’s worth continuing your friendship or relationship with that person. Only once you have confirmed that you’re being gaslighted you will be able to move on with your life. Then minimize interaction with the gaslighter so you can get your confidence back, and make plans to break ties completely.
