How To Heal Your Throat Chakra

The Throat Chakra is associated with the color sky blue. This chakra is our will center. The healthfulness of the fifth chakra is in relation to how honestly one expresses himself/herself. Lying violates the body and spirit . We speak our choices with our voices (throats).

All choices we make in our lives have consequences on an energetic level.

Even choosing not to make a choice such as in repressing our anger (not speaking out) may manifest into laryngitis. We have all experienced that “lump in our throats” when we are at a crossroad of not knowing how to speak the right words in any given situation, perhaps even stuffing our own emotions.

The healthfulness of the throat chakra is signified by how openly and honestly a person expresses himself or herself. A challenge to the throat chakra is for us to express ourselves in the most truthful manner. Also to receive and assimilate information. Seek only the truth.

Ask yourself how honest you are in conveying truthfulness, not only to others, but to yourself. It is really unfortunate when we lose our authenticity. And when it happens the throat chakra shuts down.

If your throat chakra is in balance you will have no problem expressing yourself in the world! You will be very creative, helpful, and may be good at offering people sound advice when it is asked for. You know what you want out of life and you are not afraid to ask for it, and what you ask for always seems to come to you with no, or little effort on your part! You are not afraid to express your weaknesses and people respect you for this. You are truly free when you can speak your truth.

Over-active Throat Chakra:

If your throat chakra is over-active you more than likely be over-opinionated, perhaps very critical of others and how they are performing in life. You may be verbally abusive to those around you, and may find yourself yelling a lot when not necessary. You won’t allow others to “talk back” or voice their opinions about certain situations, it will be your way or no way.

Under-active Throat Chakra:

When under-active, you will be unable to express yourself and will often be misinterpreted or misunderstood by others. You will probably be “wishy washy” or considered “flakey” or unreliable by the people in your life. Telling the truth and being honest with yourself is something you probably have a difficult time with, and giving mixed messages is likely something that has gotten you into trouble before. Until you find balance within the throat chakra, your life will remain the same – and nothing will ever work out in the way you would like it to.

Healing and the throat chakra

For healing, these stones are said to aid the treatment of any blockage or disease of the throat. It is also helpful when inflammation occurs, since blue is a cooling color. It is also said to aid with internal bleeding and nervous conditions.

Deep blue indicates intense power, and light blue (or azures) symbolize high ethical inspiration.
