A Guide To Help You Achieve Happiness

People are under the impression that what happens in their lives is out of their control. You cannot sit around waiting to see what life dishes out. People that wait around usually have minimal goals and hope that life will be kind to them.

“Being happy is something that each of us determines, it is not something that we find outside of ourself, it is within us and our choice.” – Catherine Pulsifer

Life is full of opportunities. You should set goals and learn all that you can from your journey along the way. This way, you should achieve success.

Not all lessons are easy. However, the challenges will make you stronger and wiser so that you can face other challenges that lay ahead.

Worrying about happiness will undoubtedly make you miserable.

Studies have shown that people who profoundly value happiness set happiness measures that are tough to obtain, which leads them to feel disappointed and depressed. In turn, it decreases their happiness. Then disappointment becomes your focal point, and you forget to focus and celebrate on the significant milestone along your journey, the small victories.

The idea of happiness you created can prevent you from appreciating and enjoying the day to day reality of your journey.

“Happiness is the art of learning how to get joy from your substance” – Jim Rohn

Happiness should be unconditional as you should be able to experience happiness anywhere, any time or under any circumstance, even if it is only briefly. You shouldn’t attach your ability to experience happiness to something external. If that fails, you have set yourself up for disappointment. Contrarily if you connect your ability to experience happiness to something internal, for example, being present, then you are in control of when and how you experience it.

Ultimately happiness can only come from within, so you have to decide to permit yourself to be happy in the now.

Money doesn’t determine your happiness. The quality of your social relationships has more importance to your happiness and well being.

“If money could buy us happiness, then some of the richest people on earth would be more than one million times happier!” ― Avijeet Das

Do not confuse happiness from having a partner in your life. Engaging in a meaningful relationship can make your life brighter. Having quality relationships lead to meaningful interactions that will promote a sense of well being and satisfaction, which would increase feelings of happiness.

Happiness is a state of mind that you control. Roughly 40% of what you experience and react to daily affects your happiness. If you would like to be happy, you are the only one that has the power to take control of your happiness. You are the only person with the ability to acknowledge and praise the moments of contentment, satisfaction, and well being.

“The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.” — Henry Ward Beecher

Your happiness is your responsibility. You are powerful and have the control to define happiness, and what you associate with it! No accomplishment is too small or insignificant to acknowledge and celebrate.

The best thing for your happiness is to be present and enjoy every moment. The root of happiness is all about contentment and satisfaction.

Do not live in the PAST!

A few pointers to live by; Don’t hold grudges. What you focus on grows bigger. Express gratitude daily. Don’t take things personally. Focus on the present. Be kind and understanding. How you use your mind is in your power.
